About ChessChat

ChessChat is chess played face to face. You are paired with a real person over live video, you say hi, you agree on a speed together, and you play a rated game. No download, no subscription, in your browser.

The ChessChat account

The verified ChessChat account is the platform’s own account. It hosts lobbies and tournaments and appears at the top of the players list in any room it runs.

It is not a player. It carries no rating, it never appears in leaderboards or tournament standings, and it cannot be challenged or added as a friend. If you see the verified badge, you are looking at ChessChat itself rather than someone you can play.
